In addition to the induction heating units of the iew GmbH there are numerous peripheral devices that facilitate and optimize the use of our induction heating systems. We would like to introduce the PLC sequence control as well as their “little brother” Regulus, which allow the customer to create temperature profiles, to define heating programs and to let them run pre-defined by the two additional devices mentioned above that ensure an automated heating process. Furthermore, the iew GmbH deals with infrared pyrometers of the brand Sensortherm that can capture the exact temperature with their non-contact temperature measurement depending on the parts to be heated.

SPS sequence control

The PLC sequence control of the iew GmbH allows you to implement up to 100 different induction heating programs with the option to enter an alphanumeric program name with an associated temperature profile (set temperature, ramp rate, hold time, etc.). The PLC is equipped with a 7 “TFT touch panel over which the desired parameters can be set. However, the sequence control is not only suitable for fully automated production facilities but also for small and manual workplaces in which the peripheral equipment such as lifting cylinder or solenoid valves can be activated when needed.

Program controller Regulus

The Regulus control unit is generally a rapid, self-optimized PID- and ramp controller with a cycle time of only 200μs. Thereby, up to 9 different programs with up to 9 different temperature setpoints can be saved. The programs can be accessed and adjusted via the included software RegulusWin or via the keyboard on the front panel.

Infrared pyrometer: Metis and Sirius

The term pyrometer is derived from the Greek word “Pyro = Fire” and “metron = measuring”. Pyrometers basically have the ability to measure temperature contact-free. In order to measure the temperature at the workpiece, pyrometers make use of the radiation intensity of the infrared spectrum. The measurement itself takes place almost without delay. The pyrometers Metis and Sirius used by the iew GmbH differ in their temperature range as well as in their basic structure. Naturally, customer specific parameters can be realized.
