Accessories

In addition to the induction heating units from IEW GmbH, we offer a wide range of peripheral devices that enhance and optimize the use of our systems. Among these are our advanced PLC sequence control and its compact counterpart, the Regulus controller. Both allow users to create temperature profiles, define heating programs, and execute them automatically, ensuring a precise and consistent heating process.

Furthermore, IEW GmbH supplies infrared pyrometers from Sensortherm, which enable non-contact temperature measurement for accurate monitoring of various workpieces during the heating process.

SPS sequence control

The PLC sequence control from IEW GmbH enables the implementation of up to 100 different induction heating programs. Each program can include an alphanumeric name and an associated temperature profile with parameters such as set temperature, ramp rate, and hold time.

The PLC is equipped with a 7-inch TFT touch panel that allows easy configuration of all process parameters. The system is not only suitable for fully automated production lines but also for small-scale or manual workstations, where peripheral equipment such as lifting cylinders or solenoid valves can be activated as required.

Program controller Regulus

The Regulus control unit is a fast, self-optimizing PID and ramp controller with an exceptionally short cycle time of just 200 μs. Up to nine different programs can be stored, each containing up to nine temperature setpoints.

The programs can be easily accessed and configured either via the included RegulusWin software or directly through the front-panel keyboard.

Infrared pyrometer: Metis and Sirius

The term pyrometer originates from the Greek words “pyro” meaning fire and “metron” meaning measurement. Pyrometers are instruments designed to measure temperature without physical contact. To determine the temperature of a workpiece, they detect and evaluate the infrared radiation intensity emitted by the material.

The measurement process occurs almost instantaneously. The Metis and Sirius pyrometers used by IEW GmbH differ in both their temperature ranges and their design structure. Of course, customer-specific configurations can also be implemented.
